Safe Affected Families and Environment (SAFE) actively participated in the Strengthening Advocacy Capacity of Civil Society Organizations, Line Ministries, and Key Stakeholders on Child Rights and Protection in Somalia workshop held on 24–25 August 2026.
The workshop provided an important platform for civil society organizations, government institutions, line ministries, and other key stakeholders to come together, exchange experiences, and strengthen their collective capacity to advocate for the rights and protection of children in Somalia.
Under the theme “Empowering Civil Society to Advocate for Stronger Child Rights Laws, Policies, Protection Systems and Accountability in Somalia,” participants explored practical approaches to strengthening child rights advocacy, improving protection systems, promoting effective policies, and enhancing accountability for the protection of children.
For SAFE, participation in the workshop provided an opportunity to engage with fellow stakeholders, share perspectives from community-level experiences, and strengthen its understanding of effective advocacy approaches that can contribute to better protection outcomes for children and vulnerable families.
SAFE recognizes that strong child protection systems require coordinated efforts among government, civil society, communities, and other stakeholders. Through continued engagement and collaboration, SAFE remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote children’s rights, strengthen protection mechanisms, and contribute to safer and more supportive environments for children and families across Somalia.
SAFE’s Commitment
SAFE will continue to strengthen partnerships, promote community participation, and contribute to advocacy efforts aimed at ensuring that every child can enjoy their rights, live in safety, and access appropriate protection and support.
