Safe Affected Families and Environment (SAFE) was pleased to participate in a panel discussion on drug misuse, organized by Somali Peace Line (SPL) in Mogadishu on 27 August 2025.
The discussion brought together civil society, health, and education stakeholders to address growing concerns around substance misuse among students, including smokeless tobacco and injectable drugs, and its impact on young people’s well-being, education, and social development.
SAFE reaffirmed its commitment to youth protection and prevention, emphasizing the importance of stronger collaboration among stakeholders, early intervention, school-based awareness, and community engagement to protect young people from substance misuse.
Together, we can promote safer, healthier, and more supportive environments for children and youth.
